ADAPTING FOR THE IMMINENT!

“Intelligence is the ability to adapt to change.” — Stephen Hawking

We are a species which has survived through the multiple perilous scars of time. We achieved the name “sapiens” by our sheer ability to overwhelm our opposition with our terrifying intellect. We have adapted to a few of the greatest disasters ever thrown upon us humans, from surviving the coldest and harsh conditions of the Ice Age to surviving the hellish conditions on Earth due to supervolcanoes. We have achieved a level of growth that we call ourselves the masters of our Earth, turning anything in our way to rubble and dust. We have reached a level of potency to land a flag on the cosmic creation of the moon. We humans are extremely limited by our fluids and flexibility; we are not too agile, neither are we muscular brutes, and we definitely are not capable of taking anything seriously, but what we are capable of is far beyond the reaches of any organism: that is to learn. We are the species that learn from the minor inconveniences made by us and solve them. We are the species that nuked ourselves two times in a row, causing mass fatalities, suffering, and torture to millions, and we are the very same species which has signed countless peace treaties on nuclear disarmament. We humans create mass atrocities, kill millions of people in the name of caste, religion, and ideology, inflicting the hadean fist over millions of innocent people, and we are the ones who create massive organizations to curb social atrocities and genocides. We are the species which started a massive armament race, and we are the very species which learnt from that mistake and curbed it. This is what a human being is; his biggest ability is to learn from his mistakes and adapt himself to rise above it into a greater individual.

We have learnt potent lessons, and as we come close to mixing with the sands of time, we pass our learnings from our mistakes to the next generation. This generational ladder of constant learning from the mistakes we have done in the past has propelled us forward since the beginning of our existence. From being mere forest dwellers yelping “ooga booga,” we turned into a species which has turned into an inevitable force within the universe itself, which refuses to stop and will not refuse to stop until the very name of our species has been cast into the sands of our cosmos.

“This universe has given birth to a force it cannot contain.”

Our very human nature makes us have the inherent capability to learn from the mistakes we have done in the past. This doesn’t limit itself to massive cataclysmic events like wars or mass extinction, but it is the very vital part of us which we knowingly or unknowingly come across because that is what it is to be human. Making no mistakes is basically a toddler’s dream, but adapting to that mistake to not repeat it is what made us what we are today. This might also include you getting caught while cheating in an exam, so you adapt and learn from the mistake you’ve done to implement more refined ways of cheating (not suggesting anything). Cherish your existence because what you are is because of the years of our species constantly learning

from its mistakes in an environment which shows its harshest side with the deepest of the bite. It is a person’s basic responsibility to pass on the lessons that they have learnt from their mistakes to the future and implement their lessons in their lives themselves to create a beautiful utopia for oneself and their future.

Ex erroribus sapiens resurgit.
