Rule Book
1. Overview
Every week, a new topic will be posted. Students write and submit an article based on the topic. At the end of the week, we will review submissions and announce the Top 5 articles. Points are awarded for participation and for placement in the rankings.
2. Weekly Cycle
a. Topic Announcement

A new topic will be posted every Monday on the Blogs page, and also announced in-school.

The topic will include a title and will last for 7 days.
b. Submission Period

Late submissions will not be accepted under any circumstances.
c. Results Announcement

Results will be posted the following week after all articles have been reviewed.
3. Submission Rules

One submission per student per week — multiple entries will lead to disqualification for that week.

Articles must be original and written by the student — plagiarism will result in sanctions.

Submissions must be made only via the official submission form on the website.

Articles should be minimum 250 words and maximum 1500 words.

The language used must be respectful and school-appropriate.

Once submitted, articles cannot be edited or replaced.
4. Judging & Ranking

All articles will be reviewed by the admin panel and sent through the system for ranking.

Articles will be judged on the following.
-
→ Content & Relevance - How well the article addresses the given topic and stays focused, with ideas that are meaningful and on point.

→ Creativity & Originality - The uniqueness of the writer’s perspective, voice, and approach, showing freshness instead of predictability.

→ Clarity & Structure - The organization and logical flow of the article, with a clear beginning, middle, and end.

→ Language & Style - The quality of grammar, vocabulary, and sentence craft, along with the overall polish of the writing.

→ Impact & Engagement - The ability of the article to capture attention, connect with the reader, and leave a lasting impression.

Admin decisions are final and cannot be appealed.
5. Points System
Participation Points:

Every valid submission = +10 points
Placement Points:
-
1st Place: +50 points
-
2nd Place: +42 points
-
3rd Place: +36 points
-
4th Place: +32 points
-
5th Place: +28 points
-
6th Place: +24 points
-
7th Place: +20 points
-
8th Place: +16 points
-
9th Place: +12 points
-
10th Place: +8 points
Points are added to your Total Points in the Leaderboard.
6. Fair Play & Integrity
To ensure a fair competition:

No fake names or duplicate student codes.

No plagiarism — suspected entries will be checked using plagiarism detection tools.

No external help — articles must be your own work.
-
Attempts to manipulate the system (e.g., multiple accounts) will lead to disqualification.
7. Rewards & Recognition

Weekly shout-outs for Top 10 writers. (Top 5 Announced in the Assembly)

Certificates and/or prizes for consistent high performers at the end of the term.

Your writing may be featured on the homepage or in special newsletters
Important :-
- You are responsible for the privacy and security of your Student Code.
- Sharing of codes is not advised.
- The privacy and security of the credentials of your JGSConnect account are also your responsibility.
- Mentions of real people's names, personal information, or other sensitive data in articles is strictly prohibited.
- JGSConnect is not accountable for any mis-match or breach of personal data from the user's end as it keeps all data received from users extremely confidential.
Sanctions
Minor Offences
- Plagiarism (Low :- 1 Flag) = Zero points and ban from submitting articles the next week.
- Plagiarism (Low :- 2 Flags) = Zero points and ban from submitting articles the next week.
- Plagiarism (Low :- 3 Flags) = Zero points and ban from submitting articles the next week.
Medium Offences
- Fake/Troll usernames = -10 points and an account suspension until the name is changed.
Major Offences
- Inappropriate usernames/comments/language = -25 points and account suspension for a week, along with no top 10 placement point bonuses for the next week.
- Spreading misinformation/inappropriate behaviour and disrespect/usage of slurs/ = -25 points and account suspension for a week, along with no top 10 placement point bonuses for the next week.
Understanding of the fact that anything that seems wrong is mostly likely punishable along with the above is necessary.
- If you have committed 2 major offences in a period of 1 week, your account will be suspended for three weeks.
- If you have committed 3 or more major offences in a period of 1 week, your account will be suspended permanently.
