1. Eligibility
The tournament is open to all students of the JGSConnect, and every participant must submit original, unpublished work. Plagiarized or copied writing will lead to immediate disqualification.
2. Format & Submission
All participants begin with the Selection Round, where entries are reviewed and only the top writers are chosen to form a knockout bracket of either 16 or 32 or more. Each new round will have its own prompt or theme, and late submissions will not be accepted
3. Tournament Progression
After the Selection Round, the tournament follows a direct knockout format, with writers competing head-to-head. Quarterfinals, Semifinals, and the Grand Final narrow the field to determine the ultimate champion, and in case of ties, the overall performance of the students throughout the tournament will be compared.
4. Awards & Recognition
The champion will receive a medal and a certificate. Special awards such as The Rising Star Award, The Language Mastery Award, The Creativity Award, and The Resonance Award will also recognize standout achievements.

6. General Conduct
All participants are expected to compete with respect, fairness, and integrity. Unsportsmanlike behavior or rule violations may result in disqualification, and all decisions made by the judges will be final.

The Writing Champion
Awarded to the writer who demonstrates exceptional skill, consistency, and creativity throughout the tournament, emerging as the ultimate champion.

Honors excellence in grammar, vocabulary, and writing style.

Tournament Info
The JGSConnect Writers’ Tournament is the ultimate stage for students to showcase their creativity, skill, and voice. Designed as a knockout-style competition, the tournament begins with a Selection Round, where all participants submit their best work. From this pool, the strongest writers are chosen to fill the bracket — either a Round of 16 or Round of 32 or higher — and move forward into the main event.
From there, the tournament unfolds in head-to-head matchups, where each writer’s piece is judged against their opponent’s. With every round, the stakes rise: from Knockouts, to Quarterfinals, to Semifinals, until only two remain for the Grand Final, the ultimate clash of imagination and expression.
Along the way, writers will not only be competing for the championship title but also for prestigious category awards — honoring creativity, impact, mastery of language, and rising talent. Every round is a chance to leave an impression, and every piece brings us closer to discovering the voices that define this year’s tournament.

Qualifiers
All registered participants first compete in the Selection Round. Judges review entries and select the top-performing writers needed to form a balanced knockout bracket (either 16 or 32 or more participants). Those who do not qualify are eliminated at this stage, but their work will still be recognized and appreciated.
Knockouts
From this stage onward, the format becomes a direct elimination. Writers compete head-to-head, with only the stronger entry moving forward. Each round will bring sharper competition and higher stakes.
Quarter-Finals & Semi-Finals
As the pool narrows, the remaining participants face off in the Quarterfinals and Semifinals, where only the most consistent and impactful writers survive. This stage often produces the most intense rivalries and standout performances.
The Final
The last two writers face each other in the Grand Final, a clash of creativity, clarity, and impact. The winner earns the championship title.
